Neil Majors

President, Education Solutions

Neil leads his team in providing consulting and administrative services to colleges and universities clients nationwide, ranging in size from small private schools to large public institutions.

Neil began his career in the insurance industry by joining Renaissance Agencies in 2001. He first served as part of the IT department, helping to maintain data integrity and streamlining back office processes, then moved to the Compliance department and worked to develop plan brochures, coordinate the issuance of compliant policies, and track legislative initiatives and compliance issues. After several promotions, Neil began overseeing client service and business operations for Relation in 2009. In 2012, Relation created its Education Solutions to focus on providing services to institutions of higher education. Neil was named the Chief Operating Officer and currently leads the practice group.

Michael Babore

Executive Vice President, Education Solutions

Michael has worked in the student health marketplace since 2000 and is licensed in all 50 states. His passion is developing roadmaps for successful student health insurance programs.

Prior to joining the Relation team, Michael worked as the Head of Sales for HTH Worldwide in their international student insurance division.

Michael is a member of NAFSA, ACHA, URMIA, NAICU, WYSTC, and the FORUM, as well as a licensed life and health agent. He is a regular presenter at many industry-related events and has traveled to 22 countries in his career.

Jesper Tejsen Lykke

Vice President, Global Markets

Jesper has more than 30 years of experience working in the international student travel industry and joined Relation Insurance in 2019 to head up Relation’s work in the in-bound international cultural exchange market.

Before joining Relation, Jesper served as Director of National Accounts at Travelex, where he developed specialty risk travel insurance products for tour operators, airlines, on-line travel agencies, and student travel companies. Prior to his work in travel insurance—which took him to numerous countries and several other companies—Jesper was Vice President of Supplier Relations at the North American division of the STA Travel Group.

Throughout his career, Jesper has been highly involved with travel-related organizations, such as NAFSA, USTOA, WYSE Travel Confederation, and SYTA, where he was a founding board member. He has traveled to over 90 countries and conducted business in almost as many.

Michele Barnes

Vice President of Client Resources, Education Solutions

Michele has over 15+ years of sales and account management experience in a variety of industries. She previously worked in academia and behavioral health, where she helped create a student assistance program to support colleges’ and universities’ counseling centers, as well as partnered with various carriers and brokers throughout the U.S.

Michele’s experience with both academia and health insurance led her to Relation Insurance, Education Solutions, where she leads the Student Health Accounts team. Michele has a servant-leader mindset, and this passion drives her to serve clients – both internal and external – and help ensure the Relation Education Solutions team is constantly providing legendary service.

Marcos Rolon

TPA Operations Leader

Marcos has been with Relation since 2013 and leads the TPA Operations in Overland Park, Kansas and Agoura Hills, California. He has served in management roles in health insurance claim operations since 1987 with companies that include Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, Chicago HMO, Hotel Employees Welfare Fund, Health Net PPO and HealthSmart, TPA.

Marcos began working in TPA environments in 1995 and since 2000 he has led TPA operations and teams responsible for claims administration, customer service, enrollment management, and benefit plan configurations.

Melissa Schultz

Director of Marketing Communications, Education Solutions

Melissa joined Relation in 2018 and is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies for Education Solutions. She is passionate about helping companies tell their stories in exciting and engaging ways.

Before joining the Relation team, Melissa spent nearly a decade in arts administration, most recently as Director of Communications at UC Berkeley’s Department of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies. She also worked at Chicago Shakespeare Theater and Seattle Repertory Theater.  Melissa holds an MFA in Arts Leadership from DePaul University and has a certificate from the University of California, Berkeley’s Professional Sequence in Editing.
